My Top Performing Stock Motifs: Some Up Over 100%

by Fred Fuld III

Motifs are like Exchange Traded Funds, except they can be created by anyone. Investors gets to choose which stocks they want to put in the portfolio, or better yet, they can invest in the Motifs created by others for a low commission. I created several motifs that are available for anyone to invest in, a few of which are up over 100% since inception.

Here are some of the motifs I created and the returns since inception (created less than two years ago):

Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency Stocks +15.3%

Anti-Crime Stocks +38.8%

Liquid Biopsy Stocks +90.6% (created just a little over a year ago)

Stem Cell Stocks +100.5% (up 48.3% just in the last 12 months)

I Created a Stock Motif Yesterday Called Stock Market Crash

Yesterday, June 9, 2017, I created a motif called Stock Market Crash. A motif is a collection of stocks and/or ETFs which you or other people create. It is almost like creating your own exchange traded fund.

I just felt like the market had topped, so I thought this would be a great motif worth creating on Thursday. It turned out to be a good move since it is up today even though the NASDAQ is down 143 points today.

It contains several bearish ETFs in the portfolio which holds such securities as the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares New ETF which was up 12.7% today.

Motifs are great because you can invest for as little as $250. For more info on the Stock Market Crash Motif, go here.

Stock Motifs That Are Up Over 20%

If you have never checked out a stock motif, maybe it’s time you did. A motif is similar to an exchange traded fund or ETF that is created by an individual investor. The motif may contain five stocks or fifty stocks or any number of stocks, and are usually concentrated around a particular industry  or investment idea.

These motifs can be bought and sold, just like any other ETF, with a commission of only $9.95. Several of these motifs have significantly outperformed the S&P 500.

For example, I created a motif called Horse Race Stocks. This is a motif that contains stocks involved in the hope racing arena. It is interesting to note that this motif is up over 50% since its inception, which was less than a year ago. I created the motif on July 21, 2016 and as of today, the motif has increased by 52.5%. Not a bad return for less than ten months.

Horse Race Stocks

My Cuba Stocks motif which holds stocks of companies that should benefit from the opening of relations with Cuba is up 24.2% since the end of July last year.

Cuba Stocks

The Marijuana Cannabis Stocks motif is my most popular. The stocks in the portfolio are self-explanatory, and with legalization of medical marijuana and recreational marijuana, what motif has spiked by 25% in less than a year.

Marijuana Stocks

Even a couple other motifs that haven’t performed as well, still have double digit returns, such as Drone Stocks, with a boost of 14%, and Virtual & Augmented Reality Stocks, up 17.9%.

All of the stocks in all of the above motifs sell for at least $5 a share. Also, if dividends are paid by any of the stocks, your account is credited with the payments.

Why My Greece Stock Motif Was Up 565% Since August

If you are not aware of what a motif is, I will explain it to you. A motif is like a mini-ETF where an individual can create whatever  they want in a portfolio and trade it just like a regular ETF. Usually the portfolio revolves around a specific industry or topic.

I have created several of these motifs including Drone Stocks (up 3.9% since the beginning of August), Cuba Stocks (+6.9%), Marijuana Cannabis Stocks (+24%), and Virtual Reality Stocks (+10.9%).

However, the biggest winner of all was the Greek Stock Motif, with the full name of Greece Stocks Under $5 a Share. The motif was created on July 31 of this year, and as of Wednesday, November 16, the motif was up over 565%. Unfortunately, today the motif dropped 77%, causing a return since of creation of only 52.6%. What has caused this huge rise?

First, DryShips (DRYS) rose from 21.60 a share to 73 a share on November 15. It has since tanked. Second, Globus Maritime (GLBS) went from 56 cents a share to 5.93 a share today, a 959% increase in price.Almost all the other companies were shipping stocks, which have had enormous returns over the last six months. TOP Ships (TOPS) was up 107% in just the last month.

If you want to see all the stocks in this motif, you can see them here.
